Federal and Remington have the worst standard deviation. Try CCI, Blazer or Winchester.
It ran the same with Blazer, Mini Mags, Aguila or anything else I threw at it. I sent it back to Keltec and now it runs Blazer OK. Still has stovepipes but not nearly as many. My Ruger MK III 22/45 and my Smith & Wesson .22 compact have never had a hiccup and Blazers are all I've fed them for years.
Mini mags never had a problem
This P17 red dot slide didn't even like Mini Mags. That's when I knew something wasn't right as Mini Mags have always been about the most reliable ammo that all my .22s like.
Exceeded my expectations. Will most likely be mine in the future especially since it’s hard to find a good 45 ACP pistol that is comfortable and can chamber more than 9 rounds in CA.
It is a great pistol. I've really enjoyed mine.
This EXCEEDED my expectations of the way I handled it yesterday. If I will have a45 ACP pistol, it’ll be this one instead of a 1911! Slightly lower recoil and muzzle rise that the XD9 Sub-Compact hands down. BEAUTIFUL shooter! There’s also a 50% chance this might become my first gun since I cannot decide which 9mm pistol I should have yet.

Yeah no problems with my original slide without the dot. Runs perfect. I sent the gun and red dot slide to Keltec and they fixed a few things so I'll do a revisit video on this soon.

I put a laser sight on the rail underneath the barrel. I bought a bore laser on Amazon for about 10 bucks. Then I bought the underneath rail laser I believe it was 22. Then I used the adjustments on the underneath rail laser to match bore laser and it was sighted in. Make sure you pull the bore laser out 😉. Shoots great and I've had over a thousand rounds through mine with different ammo and no problems.

My P17 did not like the CCI ar tacticals at all. every 2-3 shots it would stove pipe and those were 1200 fps. I then switched to mini mags at 1260 fps and it runs those good with no issue. Maybe that extra 60 fps is what it needs to cycle ??? i can tell you that stingers will def work no problem at 1600+ fps
That's good, but I watched Hickok 45 do good at 230 Yds, offhand. Check it out. I thinkhe may have made every shot. Iron sights.

Thanks! I was holding center of the 12x22" target. It hit about 8" high with a 50 yard zero.

Right at the bottom of a hill with open road; seems like a better decision to run LIDAR instead of radar there.

I sure do still have it. It works just fine. Haven't used it in years. Just stuck a new battery in it and it fired right up.
What if…you measure the weight of the original slide and the weight of the optic slide. Assuming the optic slide is heavier, drill some extra holes till they weigh the same???
That would definitely be possible. I didn't want to modify it though as I sent it back in.
The new slide with red dot is .6 oz heavier than the original slide. OEM slide was 4.1 oz and the red dot slide was 4.7 oz, the same guy said to remove the front sight to save some weight. But his P17 with the new red dot slide had NO issues firing any ammo.
I just bought one of these secondhand and it works great. Does anybody know of a way to convert it from being 2x magnified to 1x? Is there some sort of 0.5x lens that can be installed at the end of the device...? I badly want to try to use mine as a helmet mounted gen 1 monocular but the magnification makes it pretty disorienting over only one eye.
I'm not sure. I haven't tried to modify mine.

I had issues with cheep ammo. It got better with a hotter round and as the gun broke in... There's issues with some P-17's and no issues with others. keep it lubed and run hot rounds until it's broken in.

Only any new 22lr firearm, I usually rack the slide or cycle the action 100 times before I use it to help wear it in.
This one had about 400 rounds through it before I bought the slide with optic. The slide with optic had about 200 rounds through it before I shot this video. I have a range in my backyard as well so I shoot a ton of .22
CCI works the best for me too. Haven't had no problem and I have two p17s
My P17 runs great and eats whatever ammo I throw at it with the original slide. The red dot slide had issues though.
@@fancypicker did you try velocitor or stingers with the red dot slide ?? Those have more kick to them.
I watched another video where the guy had the top round rim over the round below and it didn't feed well
I have a night owl vision scope. It cost me $80.05 and I have to send it back. I did put two AA. lithium batteries. And it will not come on it all.

One of the best in Radar detection. No radar detector will alert you in time for Laser. If it goes off it's usually too late and you have been nailed. If you want laser protection, get some laser jammers.

@@sriavulaI was doing 125 on i91 , got a laser alert and dipped off a side exit. No ticket in the mail or anything since. Got hit with LIDAR by mass state police
